Why we started in Kampala.
Kampala runs late, moves fast, and rarely sits still — bars, lounges and social spaces fill up long after the sun goes down, and a phone battery rarely survives the whole night unassisted.
We chose to build here first because the problem is visible, the venues are willing partners, and the density of nightlife and entertainment gives us a real testbed for a distributed network — not a theoretical one.
What we learn from 200 powerbanks and five kiosks in Kampala becomes the foundation for EV charging, battery swapping and energy hubs across the rest of the city, the country, and eventually the region.
